Keifuku Line (Randen)
The Keifuku Line (Randen) consists of two branches, the Arashiyama Line and the Kitano Line. Trains run from Arashiyama Station to either Shijō Ōmiya Station or Kitano Hakubaichō Station with a transfer at Katabiranotsuji Station. The Keifuku Kitano Line makes it easy to travel to Ryōan-ji, Kitano Tenmangū Shrine, Kinkaku-ji, and the Arashiyama area.

ABOUT TICKETS
There is no ticket inspection when boarding the train, and you do not have to buy a ticket before boarding. A flat fare will be collected at the end of your ride.
At major stations you can buy the ticket at a machine before boarding the train. This can be helpful if you want to avoid handling small change when disembarking.

By Kansai Thru Pass
The Kansai Thru Pass can be used with the card reader on the fare machines inside the train cars or at station gates.
HOW TO BUY A TICKET
Most ticket machines have buttons for English instructions. Press this button and the menu will appear in English. From there, push the "Ticket Purchase" button.
Insert cash into the ticket vending machine.
Choose the ticket you wish to purchase and the number of passengers. You can buy as many tickets as you need to at the same time if you are traveling in a group.
Take the ticket and proceed to the train.
ENTERING/EXITING THE TRAIN
Please enter the train from the door at the rear of the car.
Press the "Stop" button to signal when you plan to get off at the upcoming station.
Put your ticket or fare into the fare machine at the front of the train car.
Get off the train.
If disembarking at Shijō Ōmiya, Kitano Hakubaichō, Katabiranotsuji, or Arashiyama Station, you must give your fare or ticket to the station attendant at the gate, rather than paying on the train.
