Kōdai-ji Tanabata Star Festival七夕会

Summary

Colorful wishes flutter in the wind at Kōdai-ji.

On the date of the Tanabata Festival according to the Gregorian calendar, Kōdai-ji in eastern Kyoto holds a special night illumination.  Special bamboo branches decorated by young children are set up along the main path for visitors to enjoy, and the gardens are also illuminated.  The illumination is held for two days from 5:00 – 9:30 pm and costs 500 yen.
